Recreation
in the
Mother Lode is Year Round
At Moccasin Ranch Estates
youll never run out of things to do. If taking in the views, sunset
or wildlife from your parcel are not enough, dont worry, there is something
for everyone.
Hike your own 37-acre parcel and if that still isnt enough, explore
some of the 1,500 acres of developed open trails.
Rock climb or scramble. If this is to your liking, you might explore parcels
#10 and #26.
Once your skills are fine tuned, world class climbing in Yosemite is only
47 miles to the east.
Horseback riding doesnt get any better than this! With over 1,500 acres
of developed trails and the space to develop your own horse facility, what
more could you ask for? If just watching horses work and play is enough for
you, consider parcels #3, or #4.
Mountain biking is great on Moccasin Ranch Road but if that is not hair raising
enough, some of the trails off Marshes Flat Road are sure to get you going.
Your might want to look at parcels #32
and #41.
Water sports seem like a stones through away, especially from Parcel #1,
which has a close view of Lake Don Pedro. Lake Don Pedro is a premier water
skiing lake with complete facilities including marinas, protected swimming
areas and convenience stores. If you love to fish, pick any one of a dozen
lakes and streams within a ten-minute ride. Trout, bass, blue gill, and catfish
abound. At Moccasin Ranch Estates, you could even create and stock your own
spring fed trout pond on parcel #32
or #29.
Four Golf Courses in the area will keep your game up to par; two of them were
even designed by Robert Trent Jones!
Snow skiing and Boarding is less than an hour away at Dodge Ridge. Badger
Pass and Bear Valley is a little further away but offers some great runs.
History buffs rejoice! Moccasin Ranch Estates is located in the heart of the
Gold Country near Sonora and Columbia Historic Park, an area rich in early
California History. In Jamestown, you can take a ride on an old steam locomotive
and learn how they influenced early California. Perhaps parcel #32 would interest
you. The remnants of an early settlers root cellar are still visible.
Pan for Gold on your own parcel of land, you will not be the first to find
it here! Any one of the stream front parcels could pan out. Parcels #2,
#4 and #26
are perfect choices for the prospector in you.
Indian Culture could be as close as your own back yard if you choose parcel
#29 which contains grinding stones
used by these first inhabitants of Moccasin Ranch Estates. The Indians too
recognized the special beauty and abundance of this place and its surroundings.
Photograph, paint, draw... landscape, wildlife, rock formations, streams,
flowers, vistas
the subjects and settings are endless.
Wine tasting at Ironstone
Vineyards might have you thinking about planting your low elevation parcel
in some short season vines.
Explore close by Mercer
Caverns where youll learn all about Stalagmites and Stalactites. This
natural cave is just outside the town of Murphy where you can still tie your
horse up at the local hotel and get a hot breakfast or cup of coffee.
